FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS
Why
do you call yourself Guide and Coach?
I am
not a Therapist. As a Guide, I will help you gather appropriate
information and read the marketplace roadmap.
As a
Coach, I will be a collaborative partner supporting you in evaluating
that information; clarifying career goals; identifying problem
areas; being a sounding board ; developing tools and action plans;
and creating your unique, sustainable career management plan.
Who
should I choose as a Guide & Coach?
I believe
a Coach should have work experience outside of career coaching;
and expertise in career management and the marketplace.
They
must respect confidentiality; build trust; be a strong listener;
be realistic; be able to provide you with objective feedback,
challenges and accountability; and coach you to results as you
grow into your chosen and unique career path.
Why
did you become a Guide and Coach?
Since
1986, my consulting was focused on corporate sponsored Outplacement
and Performance Management. Recently, individuals that I have
worked with in the past and other individuals who became aware
of my work, have increasingly been asking me to Coach them
I love
working one-on-one and developing a Coaching relationship with
individuals who need guidance and support; and sharing my expertise
and experience to help them identify and meet their career goals..
How
long does your coaching process take?
It obviously
varies from individual to individual. Some people are done in
2 to 3 months and others choose an ongoing partnership.
How
do our meetings take place?
The
free ½ hour initial consultation, when geographically possible,
would be in my office and then we would decide to continue meeting
in person or by phone. Otherwise, the initial consultation and
all coaching will be done by phone and email.
Meeting
sessions generally last 45 minutes, ‘homework’ is
assigned for next meeting and I am available to you between meetings
for short just-in-time phone or email questions.
What
are your fees?
The
is no fee for the initial ½ hour free consultation.
If we
decide to work together, fees are $150 per 45 minute session including
an additional 15 minutes for ‘just in time’ phone
and email questions.
Additional
support outside the 45 minute session(s) for extended meetings,
research, written presentations, etc. will be billed in 15 minute
increments. We will discuss and include fees for additional support
and assessment in our coaching agreement.
Fees
may be paid by check or credit card and are due the 1st day of
the month for the coming month. At anytime, you or I may request
that we stop working together. All unused fees will be promptly
returned.
Are
Your Fees Tax Deductible?
For
most people who engage me to assist in career planning and management,
my fees are tax deductible. Please check with your accountant.
Do
You Provide References?
I will
be happy to provide references when mutual interest is established
How
do I engage you to be my Guide and Coach?
Let’s
meet for a free ½ hour
initial consultation. I will send you a questionnaire that we
will use for our meeting.
If we agree that it makes
sense to work together, I will send you a Coaching Agreement outlining
our Partnership.
